Guillermo del Toro returns to the horror genre with Crimson Peak, a period piece that combines romance and fright with beautiful costumes and gorgeous set pieces. A three-story Victorian house was actually built for the film, and it’s equipped with elevators, bathrooms, and a full library. Earlier this year, the teaser trailer gave us our very first early look at the film.
Now, Legendary Pictures and Universal have released a new trailer for the film, providing new footage, a much better look at the house no one will be able to stop talking about, and plot details.
While we do learn a little more about the plot of the film, much of it is still wrapped up in a mystery that has yet to be revealed, which is a great device because it will keep the audience fully engaged. While the film does star Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, and Charlie Hunnam, it is the fully functioning house that we should all be focused on, not because of its importance in the film, but because it is so beautiful to look at. I mean, can you really take your eyes off a house like this one?
Crimson Peak opens in theaters on October 16, 2015.
