Just about a week before Warner Bros. takes over Comic-Con in San Diego – because it looks like Disney, Marvel, Sony, and Paramount aren’t interested in going – the studio has released a set of brand new exciting images for the highly anticipated Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

These new images reveal the epic stare down between The Dark Knight (Ben Affleck) and the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill), and the god-like praise that Superman received in the teaser trailer earlier this year. Plus we are getting our first look at some behind-the-scenes directing work from Zack Snyder, as well as our very first look at Gal Gadot as Diana Prince and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor with hair?! Check out the photos after the jump.

Before you check out these new images below, here are some interesting quotes about the film.

Interestingly enough, Batman v Superman was actually supposed to be an Easter Egg in Man of Steel. As Snyder explains:

“I said, “˜What about at the end of the movie we do a scene where there’s a crate full of kryptonite delivered to Wayne Manor.’ Everyone was like”¦”˜Okaay.’ Once you say it out loud it’s a problem because you can’t unsay it.”

Ben Affleck is the fifth actor to play Batman in a big budget film, and each new actor brought in is a different interpretation of the Caped Crusader. The actor talked a little bit about what separates his Batman from previous iterations:

“He’s on the verge of being swallowed up by the anger and the rage that we see haunt this character in the other manifestations of it. But this guy is further down the line and has become more embittered and cynical.”

It doesn’t sound like Batman has been winning the war on crime in Gotham, but he hasn’t given up the fight. But the idea of people idolizing Superman (as we have seen in the teaser and will see in the photo) is worrisome for The Dark Knight. EW, which debuted the images, says that Batman fears that Superman’s god-like power makes him more of a ruthless overlord than a hero, so he takes it upon himself to take him down.

Other photos include Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor with hair. In a previous photo, he was sporting a bald head. Whether or not that bald look will be the final look or even be in the film is unknown, but know that we will see Luthor with hair in the film.

Another interesting photo is that of Bruce Wayne getting awfully close to Diana Prince. Do the two already know each other’s alter egos or is there something else going on?

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to open worldwide on March 25th, 2016
