Comic-Con got excited after 20th Century Fox released the first look at Ryan Reynolds as both Wade Wilson and Deadpool. The cast of Deadpool were at Comic-Con this past weekend, and there was no denying that we would finally be getting a comic book film that was faithful to the source material. The reaction was so overwhelmingly positive that moderator Chris Hardwick showed the footage a second time.
However, it will be a while before those who didn’t get to attend Comic-Con, let alone get into Hall H, gets to see the footage. According to Reynolds, it will be at least three weeks before a trailer is released, because, according to him, the VFX are still incomplete.
But if you are still hungry for anything Deadpool, Fox has released high-resolution images from the film, which should temporarily hold you over until a trailer hits the web. Check out the images below.
The movie also stars Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Wilson and Deadpool’s love interest; T.J. Miller as Weasel, Deadpool’s friend; and Ed Skrein as Ajax the evil doctor responsible for giving Wade’s powers that turned him into Deadpool; Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Ajax’s assistant and muscle; and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, a young mutant heroic protege who helps Deadpool in his quest to stop Ajax.
Directed by Tim Miller, who uses a script written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland), Deadpool opens in theaters on February 12, 2015.
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
