D23 Expo 2019: ‘The Mandalorian’ Trailer: Bounty Hunting Is A Complicated Profession

There has never been live-action Star Wars television series. But come November, that will all change when The Mandalorian will debut along with a number of other original shows on Disney+, Disney’s exclusive streaming service. This will be one of Disney’s flagship shows that can only be seen on Disney+, and the studio hopes to use all of that anticipation and excitement to draw subscribers to their service.
Star Wars fans got a first look at The Mandalorian earlier this year when showrunner and executive producer Jon Favreau presented some footage and shared some info about the show. Now he’s back, with the debut of the teaser trailer; plus, and he brought along some of the cast to the D23 Expo today to show off what they can expect to see.
Watch the teaser trailer here below.

‘The Mandalorian’ Inspiration, Plot, Character Details, and New Images For First ‘Star Wars’ Live-Action Series

The third day of Star Wars Celebration brought us our first look at Disney+’s The Mandalorian. From The Jungle Book and Iron Man director Jon Favreau, the first ever live-action Star Wars TV show will “follow the travels of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic…†Though that seemed a bit vague at the time, we knew it would follow the title character and the field of bounty hunting.
So Favreau, Dave Filoni, and castmembers Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, and Carl Weathers took to the stage to talk about the inspiration, their approach to the show, and talk about some of the characters that we will see. Check it out here below.

“Time to make the chimi-fucking-changas!”
In Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Green Lantern) stars as Wade Wilson, a cancer patient subjected to an experiment that leaves him with mutant abilities, an unstable mind, and a twisted sense of humor.
Written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (Zombieland) and directed by Tim Miller, Deadpool feels like National Lampoon’s RoboCop, an ultra-violent cartoon that is as immature as it is obscene. It’s Looney Tunes meets Kick-Ass, and it’s an absolute blast for fans of Marvel’s “Merc with a Mouth.”

Deadpool Pops The Big Question In New Clip

Usually we don’t share every single piece of promotional material for an upcoming movie, because in most cases a lot of the short TV spots and clips that are released show the same or similar content to what we’ve seen in the past. Deadpool is not most cases. While we have seen a lot of the same footage from the actual movie shown in previous related goodies we’ve seen, the marketing campaign has also been jam-packed with plenty of creative and hilarious promos.
In the latest clip Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) pops the big question to his lady friend Vanessa Carlysle (Morena Baccarin), though it probably doesn’t go quite like they had imagined it in their heads. You can watch the new clip below.

Happy Australia Day From Deadpool! (Video)

The marketing team for Deadpool has been doing some pretty fantastic work (find more of it along with early screening reactions and more right here), and part of that has been releasing holiday related goodies. We’ve seen star Ryan Reynolds celebrating Halloween with some kids, and then there was the 12 Days of Deadpool for Christmas. The movie is set to release near Valentine’s Day too, so they’ve used that to their advantage as well.
Now Deadpool is here again to wish Australians everywhere a happy Australia Day, which is celebrated in a few days on January the 26th, while maybe taking a shot at the fact that they gave us Wolverine in the process. You can watch the short video below.

‘Deadpool’ Officially Gets R Rating From MPAA

If you couldn’t shake the fear that—despite everything that we’ve seen and heard regarding Deadpool being as faithfully gory and graphic as fans of the comic book have always demanded the movie be—20th Century Fox might try to pull a fast one and ultimately reveal it to actually be rated PG-13 shortly before release, worry not my friends.
Though your fears were understandable (why, if we’ve all known for a long time now that star Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller had been given permission to make an R-rated flick and we’ve seen with our own eyeballs the ultra violent red band trailers, would promos released as early as this week still say “This Film Is Not Yet Rated”?), Deadpool has been officially awarded that badge of honor R-rating from the Motion Picture Association of America. Continue reading to find out what exactly the movie has been given that R rating for.
