The fall television season creeps ever closer, and Gotham, one of FOX’s breakout hits of last year, has released some more season 2 teaser videos, so we won’t forget our favorite city (as if we could). What is super exciting, is the videos show the new theme in the promo – Gotham: The Rise of the Villains.

The first video “Hungry” gives glimpses of some of the villains we have to look forward to. James Frain (Theo Galavan) is revealed saying, “Monsters are coming.” Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is making yet another deal with Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), in what looks like Penguin’s new digs. Tigress (Jessica Lucas) is cracking her whip. We catch a glimpse of Victor Zsasz (Anthony Carrigan). And we are rewarded with a little smile from our Joker (Cameron Monaghan).

The second video shows Bruce (David Mazouz) and Alfred (Sean Pertwee) descending down the dark stairs behind he secret doorway they discovered at the end of season 1. The door they come upon has a keypad and an evil looking symbol. Titled “The Cave,” we know this is the future Batcave and cannot wait to see what is hidden in there.

“You can’t have the truth unless you feel a true calling.”

Gotham season 2 synopsis:

“The stakes are higher than ever as Gotham explores the origin stories of some of the most ambitious and depraved Super Villains, including The Riddler, The Joker and Mr. Freeze, and Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) uncovers more secrets from his father’s past.”

Gotham returns Monday, September 21st at 8:00pm ET on FOX.
