Recently, the titular heroes of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice graced the cover of Empire. But it was all just a tease of what was on the inside.
The movie magazine contained three new images from the film featuring the three principal characters: Batman (Ben Affleck) standing next to a lighted Bat-signal as the rain beats down on him, Superman (Henry Cavill) standing in a dark room, and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) as the determined CEO who will take down Superman, wearing Silicon Valley-garb while standing in a basketball court with his name graced on the wall in neon lights. See new images below.
According to the image descriptions provided to us by Empire, Superman is actually standing in one of the rooms of Wayne Manor. The descriptions also confirm that Commissioner Gordon is dead, and the Dark Knight uses the Bat-Signal to lure Superman into a fight.
Though I’m interested in seeing how a darker and older Batman will fare in the DC Cinematic Universe, the more images of Eisenberg as Luthor I see, the more I am intrigued by the fact that he does resemble a Silicon Valley CEO who has the money to spare for crazy pet projects like using General Zod’s body and his World Engine machine to synthesize Kryptonite.
Written by Chris Terrio, based on a story by David Goyer, the movie also stars Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Jason Momoa, Holly Hunter, and Scoot McNairy.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in theaters on March 25, 2015.
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
