Rise of the Tomb Raider

So far the only gameplay we had seen from the Tomb Raider reboot sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider, was set in the ice and snow and unforgiving cold.

A new gameplay demo was presented during Xbox’s presentation at Gamescom 2015 this week, and in it Lara Croft has escaped the wintry environment and now instead finds herself dealing with bad guys in some torrential downpours.

You can check out the new Rise of the Tomb Raider gameplay demo below.

While searching for a lost city in Siberia, Lara and her friend Jonah become separated when a massive avalanche triggers during a storm. Lara must scavenge resources, forge weapons, and gain an advantage over Trinity forces in pursuit of the secret she seeks. Discover the legend within.

Woman vs. Wild

Conquer a world fiercely protecting its secrets, endure perilous conditions and unstable landscapes, face dangerous wildlife that act as guardians to ancient tombs, and explore huge interactive environments.

Awe-Inspiring Deadly Tombs

Explore huge ancient spaces littered with deadly traps, solve dramatic environmental puzzles, and decipher ancient texts to reveal crypts as you take on a world filled with secrets to discover.

Guerilla Combat

Use the environment to your advantage, scale trees and dive underwater to avoid or takedown enemies, configure Lara’s gear, weapons, and ammo to suit your play style, craft explosives on the fly to sow chaos, and wield Lara’s signature combat bows and climbing axe.

The Most Stunning Tomb Raider Game Ever Made

CG film quality characters and FX, real-time cloth and body physics, and full performance captured cut-scenes deliver the most immersive and visually stunning Tomb Raider game ever made.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is currently scheduled to be released on November 10th, though that could change. Not only is that the same day that Fallout 4 will be released, but it’s also in the middle of an 11-day stretch that also includes the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Star Wars: Battlefront. It wouldn’t be surprising if one of them made a small move, though the fall season is usually pretty jam-packed with game releases anyway.

The game can be pre-ordered for Xbox One and Xbox 360 now.
