It’s almost been three years since we last saw a Coen Brothers film, but come early next year we won’t have to wait any longer. Hail, Caesar! features an eclectic and all-star cast featuring Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Ralph Fiennes, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, Alden Ehrenreich, and Frances McDormand. Now Universal has released the first trailer for the film.
Set in the latter years of Hollywood’s Golden Age, the film follows a fixer (Brolin) who gets tangled in a Hollywood scandal involving kidnapping an A-list movie star (Clooney), a huge ransom, and more. Check out the first trailer for Hail, Caesar! here below.
The film has been in production for a while, and because some of the members of the cast were only there for short time, their roles in it will be minor, but it will still be great to see some of our favorite actors and actresses in a Coen Brothers’ film.
As you can see there will be plenty of references to the golden age of Hollywood that featured big musical dance numbers, backdealing behind stage, classic Hollywood studios, and much more.
It is also the final installment of the filmmakers’ Idiot Trilogy, which began with O, Brother Where Art Thou? and continued with Intolerable Cruelty.
Hail, Caesar! hits theaters February 5, 2016.
Four-time Oscar®-winning filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen (No Country for Old Men, True Grit, Fargo) write and direct HAIL, CAESAR!, an all-star comedy set during the latter years of Hollywood’s Golden Age. Starring Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Channing Tatum, Scarlett Johansson, Jonah Hill and Frances McDormand, Hail, Caesar! follows a single day in the life of a studio fixer who is presented with plenty of problems to fix.
The comedy is produced by the Coen brothers under their Mike Zoss Productions banner alongside Working Title Films’ Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan.
