The gang is back together! Last week after a silly game of let’s-pretend-Tandy-died-to-get-some-sympathy, Carol (Kristen Schaal) finally confessed that Phil (Will Forte) was alive. She was willing to leave if they did not accept him. So they did… and punished him by locking him in a stockade (where did they even get that?).

Some spoilers below.

Carol is his greatest (and only) advocate, but he is not even trying to help himself. He proclaims he wants and deserves punishment. They suggest a week in solitary, he suggests 5 weeks. That’s the motto – C to the T – “Do the crime, you gotta do the time.” He’s actually trying to do the right thing in the most annoying way possible. He gets a perimeter-controlled shock collar, and when he won’t stop speaking completely awkwardly, he has to stay silent. That is ensured with collar #2 – a citronella-spraying one. The “gang” is actually super mean. Phil ends up being kind of a selfless hero at the end, and they act like jerks about it.

Tonight’s episode gave us one of the grossest scenes ever (and I watch The Bastard Executioner). The scene? Phil eating cheese. Let me elaborate. Phil scarfing down crumbly, moist cheese so fast and all over his face that there are wet cheese crumbs all over his massive beard. So disgusting.

Best part of the episode was the worst game of charades ever. This seemed totally ad-libbed and fun. What is up with The X Factor obsession?

What the heck is Todd (Mel Rodriguez) up to? He was acting loony all episode. I really want to know who calls him “Daddy.”

Last Man is always over-the-top cringing comedy, especially when it comes to Phil and his antics. He is so socially inept, that even when he’s being nice, it’s super creepy.

As much as this show repels me sometimes, I cannot look away.

The Last Man On Earth airs Sunday nights at 9:30pm ET on FOX.
