Last week on The Flash, it was a Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) family reunion, as Lisa Snart (Golden Glider – Peyton List) went to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew for help. For some odd reason, her brother is working with their dad, who abused Lisa mercilessly. She knows Leonard is being forced. Turns out, she was right. Her dad put some kind of injectable explosive into her, and had his finger on the detonator to bend Cold to his will. And his will is a heist. Barry (Grant Gustin) joins the crew in an effort to save Leonard, almost getting himself killed. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) saved the girl, and Barry saved the day, with the added bonus of making Captain Cold seem less evil, thus making him a more believable “legend.” Jesse L. Martin carried the less than stellar side plot of Iris’s (Candice Patton) mother returning. Dr. Stein (Victor Garber) is unwell. The Flash always comes through, so I’m hopeful this piece will become more compelling soon. The biggest of the 52 time breaches is right in the lab, and Earth-2’s Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) comes walking on through. Squeal!!!!

Spoilers below.

The Flash 2.4 “The Fury Of Firestorm” review: The race is on to save Professor Stein. Without Ronnie (Robbie Amell) to stabilize him, Stein won’t last too much longer. A quick search by Caitlyn (Danielle Panabaker – and because it’s like Googling), reveals two people affected by the dark matter during the particle accelerator explosion, that could match Dr. Stein for merging. The first – a genius scientist. The second – an ex-football player mechanic. Caitlyn shows her IQ snobbery in her 1st choice. He’s kind of a douche-y know-it-all though. They try and fail. The other, Jax Jackson (Franz Drameh) saw all his college dreams die that day, but is still resistant to the idea of higher purpose. When the angry and now fiery scientist comes after them, they are able to deactivate him, and Jax and Dr. Stein merge happily ever after.

1- I miss Ronnie.
2- That whole thing was a bit predictable, I expect more from The Flash. However, Flash – I love you and forgive you.

Iris finally agrees to meet her mother… to reject her. Then she finds out her mom is dying, so she agrees to meet with her again. And rejects her again, but not before revealing a giant secret, and an opportunity for a new cast member.

Adorable Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) has two awesome things going on this episode. One, the chemistry with Barry is delightful. Two, she’s looking for a meta described as a sharkman, Does she find him/it? You can probably guess and it was awesome!!

I also think she knows Barry is The Flash becaue she keeps giving Barry these weird looks, plus Barry is a terrible liar.

Harrison Wells is just walking around town (and S.T.A.R. Labs) undetected. Someone catches a glimpse and tells Joe, but he does NOT want Barry to know, for obvious reasons.

Not for long…

I can’t believe I have to wait an entire week. Tom Cavanagh does everything in the most interesting way possible. His reveal is friggin’ fantastic.

The Flash airs Tuesday nights at 8pm ET on The CW.
