It’s the holidays. Time for cheer and giving, and of course Christmas cards, and if you are a pet owner, you are bound to give one of those with your pets in it. But as Illumination’s The Secret Life Of Pet‘s special holiday trailer will show you, not all pets are too happy about dressing for the festivities.
We’ve already seen a teaser trailer earlier this year that introduced us to some of the household pets. While you may think their homes are a reflection of their personalities, that teaser proved us wrong. Now with this holiday trailer, we are getting a look at just how interested pets can be trying to pose for a holiday shot. Check out all the fun in the new trailer below.
The Secret Life Of Pets is basically Illumination’s Toy Story, with pets revealing who they really are while their owners are gone. It’s not an entirely new concept, but with the some of the talent involved, it should make for a very entertaining film. And it involves pets. Sure it doesn’t have those tiny yellow dudes who run around causing all sorts of mischief, but who doesn’t find a New York City pet dog, cat, or rabbit absolutely adorable? Anyone who has tried to take a photo like the one in the trailer knows that the struggle is real.
Illumination has quickly become one of the top competing animation studios. With two Despicable Me films, and its spinoff, Minions, the studio is posed to become one of the greatest. And The Secret Lives Of Pets will hopefully prove that they don’t need just one franchise to stay in the game.
The film features the voice talents of Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Jenny Slate, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress, and Albert Brooks.
Directed by Chris Renaud and Yarrow Cheney, The Secret Life Of Pets opens in theaters on July 8, 2016. Brian Lynch and Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio wrote the script.
Here’s the official synopsis:
For their fifth fully-animated feature-film collaboration, Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures present The Secret Life of Pets, a comedy about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day.
