Legendary Motorhead Frontman Lemmy Kilmister Has Died

Lemmy Kilmister, one of the most iconic frontman in rock and the leader of the long-running band Motorhead, died today after a battle with cancer, according to a post on Motorhead’s official Facebook page. He was 70.
For the past few years, the road warrior had a few health scares, causing Motorhead to cancel tour dates, and also assure fans that the big guy was still “alive and kicking.” While the rock and roll legend had suffered a haematoma a few years ago, he was reportedly diagnosed with cancer on December 26, 2015, just two days after his 70th birthday.

Back in September, there was a report that Christopher Nolan would be releasing another film in the middle of the summer blockbuster season. Most recently, Quentin Tarantino and Paul Thomas Anderson talked about the importance of 70mm film, and Tarantino credited Nolan for creating a new interest in the format. During that conversation, Tarantino then said that Nolan’s next project would be using 70mm. All of this happening right after The Weinstein Company had helped retrofit 100 theaters to fit the 70mm presentation that Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight was shot in.
It only makes sense. Filmmakers like Tarantino, Anderson, Nolan, and J.J. Abrams have put an emphasis on using stock film to shoot their movies as opposed to using digital. And using the wider screen format creates a more immersive experience. Nolan shot The Dark Knight, Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, and Intersteller in IMAX. But what could Nolan’s next IMAX film be? Well, a new report says that it will center on World War II’s Operation Dynamo, which helped see the evacuation of Allied Troops. More on the new project here below.

Films based on video games have had a reputation of not being very good. But when one of those film stars Oscar-nominated Michael Fassbender, it might have a chance of being entertaining. The X-Men actor will star as Callum Lynch in 20th Century Fox’s adaptation of Assassin’s Creed from director Justin Kurzel (Macbeth). While a promotional image was released a few months back (see above), the news that came with it didn’t tell us much other than the fact that the film was about to start shooting.
While this new image is nothing to get excited for either, it does give us a new look at Fassbender and co-star Ariane Labed (Before Midnight). Check it out here below.
