A teaser trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them debut during tonight’s MTV Movie Awards 2016, and Warner Bros. has now released it online.
Watch the teaser trailer here below.
The film is part of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter universe and takes place 70 years before the events of the original series. The movie stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, a magizoologist — which is someone who studies and catalogs the various magical creatures of the wizarding world — on a trip to New York. With him is a magical suitcase, which you’ll get a glimpse of in this new trailer.
Newt Scamander is not new to the Harry Potter world, as he is the author of the title textbook that Harry and his fellow students use at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. But, Fantastic Beasts is where the character makes his debut on screen, and from the looks of it, it’s going to be epic.
Directed by Harry Potter veteran with a screenplay by J.K. Rowling, Fantastic Beasts stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Colin Farrell, Faith Wood-Blagrove, Jenn Murray, Elizabeth Moynihan, Christine Marzano, Denis Khoroshko, Jon Voight, Gemma Chan, Carmen Ejogo, and Ron Perlman, and is scheduled to hit theaters on November 18, 2016.
