Fans of the Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon comic book series Preacher have been waiting a long time to see it brought to life, with the memory of plenty of failed attempts at adapting it still fresh in mind.
But come Sunday that all changes, as the TV series adaptation of the same name from Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Sam Catlin finally premieres on AMC after the latest episode of Fear the Walking Dead. But if you’re the impatient type, and you simply cannot go another day without seeing something, anything, substantial from the series, you are in luck this day. AMC has released the first four minutes of the pilot episode, so you can get a small taste for the show beyond the quick shots a trailer offers you.

“Preacher” is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power. Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy come together and when they do, they are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
The show stars Dominic Cooper, who plays the lead role of Reverend Jesse Custer; Joseph Gilgun, who stars as the Irish vampire named Cassidy; Ruth Negga, who stars as Custer’s ex-girlfriend and current companion Tulip O’Hare; and Ian Colletti, who has the distinct honor of playing the character named Arseface. Other stars include Lucy Griffiths, W. Earl Brown, Anatol Yusef, Tom Brooke, Derek Wilson, Ian Colletti, and Jackie Earle Haley.
The Preacher pilot episode airs this upcoming Sunday night at 10PM EST on AMC.
