Hot on the heels of the new poster for American Gods, the upcoming Starz television show based on the Neil Gaiman novel, as well as the first look at the character Bilquis, comes another sneak peek.
Starz has released the first look at Emily Browning as Laura Moon, shown reuniting with her husband Shadow (Ricky Whittle). Check it out here below.
The image is reportedly from an early scene from the series, which shows Shadow with his wife Laura, who is actually dead. But this is a fantasy story, so their love story continues even after death. You can see in the photo that Laura, who has a huge scar on her chest, is not ready to move onto the afterlife, but she’s also not a ghost either.
Head over to EW to read their interview with executive producers Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, who talk about expanding Laura’s character and adding her to the list of “dead girls” that Fuller, who worked on Dead Like Me and Pushing Daisies, has written.
American Gods comes to Starz in 2017.
If you’ll be at SDCC this weekend, head over to Room 6BCF at 3:15pm PST on Friday, July 22nd for the American Gods panel, where a new trailer is expected to premiere. Also, visit Booth 4029 on the convention floor throughout the weekend to see “The Bone Orchard” (they’ll be having an autograph signing there on Friday). Details just below.
If you’re a little behind, be sure to head here for lots of previous American Gods related content, including several “first look” images from the TV series.
