Back in January we saw a pair of sizzle reels for a couple of Netflix’s upcoming original titles, The Crown and The Get Down…which would also work as a single title people would be curious to learn more about.
The Get Down has already been released, but The Crown still has a little over a month before its arrival. Until then, Netflix has released a new trailer for the series, which follows the reign of Queen Elizabeth II beginning in 1947.
Continue below to watch the new trailer.
The Crown comes from Peter Morgan, a two-time Academy Award nominee. He’s previously worked on the screenplays for The Queen, The Last King of Scotland, The Other Boleyn Girl, Frost/Nixon, The Damned United, and Rush, among others.
It stars Claire Foy as Princess Elizabeth, Matt Smith as Philip Mountbatten, John Lithgow as Winston Churchill, Greg Wise as Lord Louis Mountbatten, Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret, Jared Harris as George VI, Andy Sanderson as Prince Henry, Michael Culkin as Rab Butler, Nicholas Rowe as Jock Colville, Amir Boutrous as Gamal Abdel Nasser, and Eileen Atkins as Queen Mary.
The first season will be ten episodes, and they will be released by Netflix on November 4th. If all goes well, it’s been said that the series is planned to run for six seasons and 60 episodes total, covering all the way up to present day.
