Last week on The Flash, a sexy bounty hunter came from Earth-19 to collect HR (Tom Cavanagh), but he has grown on the team. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) flirted with and challenged the hunter to a trial by combat, winner takes HR. Julian (Tom Felton) helped them figure out how to beat her, in between being incredibly awkward. After battling through several worlds, including Earth-2, Earth-38 (Supergirl), and a Mustafar-like world, Cisco won and made HR a permanent resident of Earth-1.

Spoilers below.

The Flash 3.12 “Untouchable” review: Wally and Barry (Keiynan Lonsdale, Grant Gustin) train by racing. They all have a fun little wager through the “course.” Barry wins by phasing, which Wally really wants to learn. I call foreshadowing.

Another piece of the future seems to be coming true. A restaurant that reopens will probably close down and reopen under a new name, because of the severely decayed (yet new) body found there. Julian does an autopsy at S.T.A.R. Labs with Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker). The corpse is unnaturally decaying. They figure out rather quickly that it was a meta named Clive Yorkin (Matthew Kevin Anderson) that Alchemy created. Cue extra guilt trip for Julian. Turns out the connection between decaying corpses (there was a 2nd one) is that they were both cops in Flashpoint.

Yorkin comes after Joe, but Kid Flash stops him (after an adorable double family date where Cecile’s daughter gushes about Kid Flash).

Everybody ends up telling Joe (Jesse L. Martin) about Iris’s (Candice Patton) future death, who is understandably very upset. Finally! “No more secrets.” Where have I heard that before?

The meta touches Iris (because it would hurt Joe more) before Wally can get to her. Caitlin goes Killer Frost to freeze the decay. It stops working and Caitlin’s eyes flash, as Killer Frost’s evil spewings come out. Julian is the one to bring her back down. They go for a drink at the end. I knew it! Please don’t let Caitlin’s boyfriends be the drummers from Spinal Tap!

Cisco vibes Flashpoint so they can figure out . Yay!! Cisco sees the other cop in danger. Joe goes to warn her. This seems like a foolish idea. Let’s send the other cop Yorkin is after to warn this one with no backup. Yorkin sets up the tracks so the train crashes, but Barry phases the entire train through the rubble. Color me (and Wally) impressed. Wally then has to instantly phase his blood inside Yorkin, which he does (thank Julian for the cure). He is a fast learner.

Side note: Those panic alarms everyone carries are quite handy.

Solid episode, with everybody doing their part as a team to dive into danger and to save the day. Barry getting more comfortable in the mentoring role is a plus. The danger of Iris dying in the future, is that no one knows if changing stuff around could make her death come quicker. That is the danger of messing with time. So while she is seemingly safe, it seems like Final Destination – Iris will die… death wants her.

Next time we get Jessy Quick, Grodd, and Earth-2 Harrison Wells!

The Flash airs Tuesday nights at 8:00pm ET on The CW.

The CW’s synopsis:

Joe (Jesse L. Martin) becomes his next target but it’s Iris (Candice Patton) who is caught in the crossfire. The Flash mentors Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) and begins to elevate the newer speedster’s training to another level. Rob Hardy directed the episode written by Brooke Roberts & Judalina Neira (312).
