Paramount Pictures has released the third trailer for Michael Bay‘s Transformers: The Last Knight starring Mark Wahlberg, Laura Haddock, and Anthony Hopkins.
Sure these films are mocked and ridiculed, but honestly, they never not live up to the epic spectacle that is a Transformers film. They’re full of explosions, sweeping shots, and have a grand scale to them. So even though this may be Bay’s final film in the franchise, the director will make sure that it will be on his terms. And he’s doing it the only way he knows how. Check out the trailer below.
There’s really no need to do a breakdown of the trailer, but seeing Transformers fighting alongside medieval knights should be fun. And who cares about their connection, it’s not like any of the other films bothered to give a detailed mythology. These are transforming vehicles shooting at each other and ripping each other to shreds. Isn’t that what really matters.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
When all seems lost, a few brave souls can save everything we’ve ever known. The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock). There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.
Also starring is Stanley Tucci, Jerrod Carmichael, John Goodman, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Isabela Moner, Gil Birmingham, and Jean Dujardin.
Transformers: The Last Knight opens in theaters on June 23rd, 2017.
