Good news, Gothamites! We will be getting more Batman fever, along with some more wacky apocalyptic shenanigans next season. FOX announced yesterday that two of their highly acclaimed shows, Gotham and The Last Man On Earth have been renewed for the 2017-2018 television season.
More below.
Gotham follows a young Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and an even younger Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) as they journey to their eventual fate as Gotham’s heroes. The Last Man On Earth sets a motley crew in the middle of a virus stricken virtually empty Earth led by fool Phil Miller (Will Forte). Everything that can go wrong, does go wrong, but somehow his group is a family.
The shows also tweeted the good news last night to all of their adoring followers.
Gotham airs Monday nights at 8:00pm ET, and The Last Man On Earth just aired its Season 3 finale this past Sunday.
Gotham Season 3 synopsis:
The origin story continues on Season Three of GOTHAM, and the stakes are higher than ever, as Super-Villains more ambitious and depraved are introduced, and a realignment of alliances shakes up the fight for power in Gotham City. As the city sinks deeper into chaos, GOTHAM will continue to follow the evolving stories of the city’s most malevolent villains: THE PENGUIN (Robin Lord Taylor); EDWARD NYGMA/the future RIDDLER (Cory Michael Smith); SELINA KYLE/the future CATWOMAN (Camren Bicondova); BARBARA KEAN (Erin Richards), TABITHA GALAVAN/TIGRESS (Jessica Lucas) and BUTCH GILZEAN (Drew Powell). The series also will catch up with the future POISON IVY (Maggie Geha), who, after an encounter with a monster from Indian Hill, finds herself reborn as a young woman who’s harnessed the full power of her charms; and will dive into the origin stories of JERVIS TETCH/MAD HATTER (Benedict Samuel), a talented hypnotist teetering on the edge of madness; and the TWEED BROTHERS.
The Last Man On Earth Season 3 synopsis:
From writer/producer Will Forte and directors/producers Christopher Miller and Phil Lord (“The LEGO Movie,” “21 Jump Street”), THE LAST MAN ON EARTH is a comedy about the life and adventures of TANDY (fka PHIL) MILLER (Forte), an average guy who inadvertently became humanity’s last hope. Season Three will pick up where the finale left off, with the group’s safety in jeopardy as armed intruders in hazmat suits approach the house.
