Last week on Prison Break, the guys tried to figure out how to escape Yemen and ISIL. They went to Omar (Akin Gazi), who tried to trick them, but it did not work. They headed to Phaecia. A&W and Van Gogh (Marina Benedict, Steve Mouzakis) went to the NSA and found Michael (Wentworth Miller) and company with a drone, but Van Gogh snuck off to make sure that ISIL found them too. The boys were able to thwart them, but Cyclops (Amin El Gamal) showed up. They split up to throw him off. Lincoln, Ja, and Whip (Dominic Purcell, Augustus Prew, Rick Yune) ended up in Phaecia, while Michael ended up killing Cyclops, getting grievously wounded in the process. The guys set off some of the fireworks they brought to lead the broken Michael out of the desert.

Spoilers below.

Prison Break: Resurrection 1.7 “Wine Dark Sea” review: The episode opens with Mike Jr. (Christian Michael Cooper) showing that he is an artist too, like his dad. Will that be integrated into the story somehow, or is that just an “aw” moment? Lincoln calls Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies) and gives her the good news and the bad news. He tells her that he has Michael, but that he’s dying from antifreeze poisoning. She’s going to meet them in Greece. Her husband, Jacob (Mark Feuerstein) is not that happy. Understandable, but I can’t help but be completely suspicious of him. Ja says goodbye. He wants to stay behind in Phaecia. He is too happy there and feels the freedom. It’s sad to see the end of his part in Prison Break. I liked him.

The assassins talk – the state department is asking questions about 21Void. They meet with Kishida (Curtis Lum), then shoot him in the head. Brazen.

Whip is really upset and begs Michael not to die. He and Lincoln bond, “You’re family now.”

Someone grabs little Michael from his yard, and cool camera work showing Scofield wake up at that exact moment. Whew! Just a dream. Good one, Prison Break.

Sara walks in, and they are reunited. She cries and he cries and I cry. She gives him a blood transfusion. He asks to see pictures of their son, and scrolls, seeing Jacob, “Jacob is Poseidon.” I knew it!! Sara echoes my words a second later. She has to go home and “wear the mask.” He’ll follow soon after. Lincoln calls Sucre (Amaury Nolasco) who heads to him on a freighter.

She goes home and is immediately made (I think). She secretly calls her friend to pick up her son from the “sleepover.” The captain of the freighter turns Michael in, which I didn’t get given the contraband status of the cargo. The Navy comes to get him. Sucre pretty much saves the day, forcing the Navy to leave. So Jacob’s next move is to have a bomb head towards the freighter. Of course they have to jump ship in a split second before the explosion. What about the rest of the crew?

Sara confronts Jacob demanding answers. He demolishes her plans. I’m pretty sure her friend will be killed, but valiant effort to protect the boy.

I was dying this episode. We got so much satisfaction – Sara and Michael’s reunion, Sucre and Michael’s reunion, the big Poseidon reveal, Sara and Michael making that connection… it is what we have been waiting for. Such an intensely exciting episode.

Some thoughts:

– Um… hello? Where’s Robert Knepper?

– I think Sara showed her hand too soon. She wears her emotions on her sleeve, so I kind of expected it.

– I think I was happier to see Sucre than Michael was.

– How are they going to clear Michael’s name in 2 episodes? I know, I know. This is the question the entire series is based on.

Prison Break: Resurrection airs Tuesday nights at 9:00pm ET on FOX.
