Did you think the Saw franchise was going to die with the seventh movie, as it once seemed like it might? No, of course you didn’t. No one did. Plus, its return has been whispered about for some time now. The franchise did remain sleeping, to its credit, for longer than expected. But now it is ready to rise from its seven-year slumber.

Lionsgate has confirmed an official title for the next movie in the series, as well as a release date. You can find both below.

The title for the new Saw movie is one many likely could have guessed if given a few chances: Jigsaw.

You won’t have to wait too long to see it, either. The movie is scheduled to be released, as is customary, during the Halloween season on October 27th of this year.
