Thor and Avengers star Chris Hemsworth and Academy Award winning True Grit, Iron Man, and The Big Lebowski star Jeff Bridges are in talks to star in Bad Times at the El Royale.
The movie is set to be directed by Drew Goddard, who directed Hemsworth in the 2012 horror comedy The Cabin in the Woods.
Not much is known about the movie or who the actors would play. What we do know is that Bad Times at the El Royale is set in the 1960s at a run-down hotel near Lake Tahoe. At this hotel, called the El Royale, a variety of characters who each have their own agendas will collide violently. So, maybe Smokin’ Aces in the ’60s? I’m in!
Goddard’s only feature directing gig thus far has been Cabin in the Woods, believe it or not, which he also co-wrote with Joss Whedon. He also directed and produced episodes of The Good Place. He wrote the screenplay for Cloverfield, and worked on scripts for World War Z, episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Robopocalypse, Deadpool 2, and the potential Sinister Six movie. Goddard also wrote and produced episodes of Alias, LOST, Daredevil, and The Defenders. On top of all of that, he wrote and produced Ridley Scott’s The Martian, which scored him an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Bad Times at the El Royale is from 20th Century Fox.
