Lost In Space

“Danger, Will Robinson!” Netflix has released an lengthy all-new trailer for their reboot of Lost In Space. Based on the iconic 1965 show of the same name, the Netflix version will have an all new story, that comes with a very expensive visual effects price tag.

In it we see the Robinson family space crew, plus the villainous Dr. Smith (Parker Posey), get lost in space while trying to find a new planet to colonize. Check out the latest trailer below.

The trailer reveals a lot of the story that we will see in season one of the reboot. More so than the teaser that was revealed a few weeks back.

We can also expect a few changes being made to the show as well. For instance, Posey will be playing Dr. Smith, a character that had been portrayed by a man in both the original TV show and the film adaptation – you know what, forget I mentioned the film adaptation. Even if it was played by the Academy Award-winning Gary Oldman, it’s just a film that you shouldn’t watch.

Another change for the show is that The Robot is found by the young Will Robinson (Maxwell Jenkins). In the previous iterations, The Robot was a companion of the crew, who would help with difficult tasks, and was often seen as Will’s guardian. Here, it looks like The Robot is not a part of the original crew.

And of course, the visuals are better than the two predecessors. In fact, it’s so impressive that it looks like it was made for a movie.

The pilot episode is directed by Neil Marshall of The Descent and Game of Thrones. Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Ignacio Serricchio, Taylor Russell, Mina Sundwall, and Raza Jaffrey also star.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

Set 30 years in the future, colonization in space is now a reality, and the Robinson family is among those tested and selected to make a new life for themselves in a better world. But when the new colonists find themselves abruptly torn off course en route to their new home they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a dangerous alien environment, light-years from their original destination. Stranded along with the Robinsons are two outsiders who find themselves thrown together by circumstance and a mutual knack for deception. The unsettlingly charismatic Dr. Smith (Posey) is a master manipulator with an inscrutable end game. And the roguish, but inadvertently charming Don West (Ignacio Serricchio) is a highly-skilled, blue-collar contractor, who had no intention of joining the colony, let alone crash landing on a lost planet.

Netflix will release all episodes of Lost In Space on April 13, 2018.
