A poster has been released for Blumhouse’s new Halloween movie, which features a close-up of the one and only Michael Myers.
Despite sharing a title with the original, the movie is actually a sequel, which sees Jamie Lee Curtis returning to the franchise she began her film career with back in 1978. To make things even more confusing, original director John Carpenter, who’s acting as a creative consultant on the new entry, has said that the movie is a direct sequel to the first, ignoring all of the others that followed it. But despite the confusion, it’s still a new Halloween made with some guidance by Carpenter, which is all that’s really needed to be excited.

Starring alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in the new Halloween is Judy Greer, who’s playing the daughter of Curtis’s Laurie Strode, and Andi Matichak, who plays a third generation Strode. The trio can be seen together in this image shared by Curtis on the Twitter:
The movie was written by the unlikely duo of David Gordon Green and Danny McBride (Pineapple Express), with Green also directing.
Halloween is currently scheduled for an October 19th release.
