We’ve been hearing about it for about a decade, and now a trailer has finally been released for The Happytime Murders, an R-rated puppet movie from the The Jim Henson Company.
The movie follows a human (played Melissa McCarthy) and a puppet detective team who are trying to solve the mysterious murders of the former cast of a popular old puppet TV show.

SYNOPSIS:
No Sesame. All Street. THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS is a filthy comedy set in the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles where puppets and humans coexist. Two clashing detectives with a shared secret, one human (Melissa McCarthy) and one puppet, are forced to work together again to solve the brutal murders of the former cast of a beloved classic puppet television show.
Also starring in the movie is Maya Rudolph, Joel McHale, and Elizabeth Banks. It’s directed by Brian Henson and written by Todd Berger, from a story by Berger and Dee Austin Robertson. Henson, McCarthy, Jeff Hayes, and Ben Falcone produce.
The Happytime Murders is set to be released in theaters on August 17th.
