Slaughter Race in Ralph Breaks The Internet

Ralph Breaks The Internet is expected to be yet another heartwarming entertaining film. The sequel to Wreck-It Ralph sees its titular character (John C. Reilly) joining Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) going on an online adventure to find a missing part for the Sugar Rush racing game. What they don’t realize is the Internet is a lot bigger than they originally thought, and finding that missing part proves to be difficult. So naturally, they will have to rely on the help of some new friends.

We already saw a sneak peek at Shank, who will be voiced by Gal Gadot. This new character is a tough and talented driver in an intense and gritty online racing game called Slaughter Race. She is impressed by the spirited Vanellope, who feels at home when participating in the dystopian Slaughter Race. And now Disney has released a sneak peek teaser video of what kind of racing you can expect to see in the Death Race-inspired world. Check it out here below.

In the teaser, which was released on Disney’s official YouTube channel, we get to see what Slaughter Race looks like. Its dusty yellowness has us believe that this is one place Ralph would not find himself in. And yet, despite that, the energetic candy-filled hair Vanellope feels right at home. So while she may not look rough and tough, her racing skills are enough to impress Shank. “This girl can drive,” Shank says with an impressed tone.

It then flips over to something very familiar, but with a few new added twists: The scene where Vanellope uses her glitch powers to teleport herself into the Disney princess dressing room. After that, we see a few brief snapshots of them getting together, before it switches it up once more, revealing the princesses wearing something more modern and comfortable. What’s great about this scene is that all the princesses are wearing something that either fits their personality, the plot of their film, or the MacGuffins. Like Aurora is wearing a shirt that says “Nap Queen,” while Merida has a shirt that says “Mum” with a bear above it. Then there’s Moana, who is wearing a shirt that says “Shiny.” You get the gist.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet””which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet””the netizens””to help navigate their way, including a webite entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.”

Ralph Breaks The Internet opens in theaters on November 22, 2018.
