Amazon has released an official trailer for Carnival Row, their upcoming Victorian fantasy series.
The series stars Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne as a detective and a faerie in a world shared by humans and the mythological creatures they fear, whose fragile co-existence is threatened when it’s discovered that a serial killer walks among them.

Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne star in Carnival Row, a Victorian fantasy world filled with mythological immigrant creatures. Feared by humans, they are forbidden to live, love, or fly with freedom. But even in darkness, hope lives, as a human detective and a faerie rekindle a dangerous affair. The city’s uneasy peace collapses when a string of murders reveals a monster no one could imagine.
The cast of the series also includes Indira Varma, Jared Harris, Anna Rust, Waj Ali, Leanne Best, Tamzin Merchant, Scott Reid, Maeve Dermody, Jamie Harris, Arty Froushan, Andrew Gower, and Tracey Wilkinson among others.
Among the writers for the eight-episode first season is none other than Guillermo del Toro, who penned the episode titled “Some Dark God Wakes,” and his Pacific Rim co-writer Travis Beacham, who along with René Echevarria created the series.
Carnival Row is set to arrive on Amazon’s Prime Video this Labor Day weekend on August 30th. A second season is already in development.
