Back in September when we were watching trailers for Haunt and The Furies and gearing up for Shudder’s stellar October lineup, we mentioned that they were also teasing a special treat that many were hoping would end up being a Halloween special for The Last Drive-In thanks to a tweet from Joe Bob Briggs himself.
We’ve had a 24-hour marathon with Joe Bob. Thanksgiving and Christmas specials. And those even led to a weekly series which has a season two coming next year. But one thing this celebration of horror has not yet had is its very own Halloween special. This week, hopes became a reality as Shudder confirmed Joe Bob’s Halloween Hootenanny is coming this month. More info and a brief announcement video can be found below.
The Halloween Hootenanny is going down on October 25th, beginning at 9PM EST. And according to Darcy the Mail Girl, it’s going to be a triple feature.
What movies will they be showing, you might ask? Who knows! But strong possibility that at least one, and perhaps all three, will be from the Halloween franchise.
While we wait for October 25th to arrive, if you’re looking for some fun background noise Shudder has also released a new Ghoul Log directed by the great Larry Fessenden. See the tweet below for more.
