Pixar IRL

Disney has released a wave of trailers that will showcase some of the Pixar originals that will appear on their streaming service, Disney+. SparkShorts will take a look at some of the rising directors and new technologies that are being used at the animation studio, while Forky Asks A Question will see the titular character try to understand some of life’s most complicated questions. But Pixar IRL will bring in a different kind of flavor by bringing some of Pixar’s most memorable to public places like a city sidewalk or a park.

Check out what kinds of hilarious and heartfelt moments are created when every day people meet Dash from The Incredibles, Russell from Up, and much more in the trailer below.

Pixar IRL pretty much tries to capture how people would react when someone who looks like Dash runs around a building in less than five seconds. Or how they would react when they see Hank from Finding Dory use his tentacles to steer a baby stroller. What would happen if a real-life Wall-E just cruised a crosswalk? Would you go on an adventure to Paradise Falls with someone who looked like Russell? How would you use the control panel from Inside Out?

That is pretty much the premise of this show. Luckily, you don’t need to be at one of the many Disneyland parks across the globe to meet these characters. They unexpectedly appear from out of nowhere to surprise people. And judging by the looks of things, it is all very delightful.

Here’s the official description of the show:

In this short-form series, Pixar characters are brought to life, surprising real people on location and viewers at home.

There is a wealth of characters that this series could use to surprise people. I just don’t see Finding Nemo‘s Marlin and Dory causing trouble in a dental office anytime soon. Maybe Merida from Brave can show up at an archery field. How funny would it be if Monsters, Inc.‘s Mike Wazowski just showed up at a campground like he did in Monsters University? Maybe Carl, Russell, and Dug can sit just outside a Fenton’s? The possibilities are endless and with more Pixar films on the way it only adds to the content.

Pixar IRL makes its debut on Disney+, which is set to launch on November 12, 2019.

In addition to the Pixar IRL trailer below, you can also find a trailer for Forky Asks A Question and a video showcasing some of the Pixar content coming to the streaming service.
