As Syfy continues to get back to a place where they’re not known for just bad movies and wrestling, while still running bad movies and wrestling, they are starting to produce more quality original programming. Part of that plan is a series based on The Expanse series of novels by James S.A. Corey (the combined pen name of writers Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck). The first trailer has now been released for the television series, and it’s looking pretty good. Check out the trailer below and let us know if this gets you excited for the series. If you’ve read the book, do you think they’ve captured the spirit of the novel? Be sure to keep a look out as we get closer to the series official release date.

Each and every week, I, “Apprentice!” Henchman 21 and “Master!” Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of January 14, 2015. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. It’s another new week of comics, and while there are a lot of great comics out this week, there’s really only one book out this week, and it’s from Marvel, and it’s Star Wars. Eve will get to that, but there are plenty of other books out this week, like new issues of Lazarus, Avengers, The Fuse, Copperhead, and Batgirl. We’ve got a couple titles from this week and one from last week that you should check out as well, so don’t just buy one comic this week, buy a bunch. That’s kind of what we’re all about on The GoD List!

It’s that most special time of year when we’re only a few days away from a new episode of my most favorite of television shows, The Venture Brothers. Coming on Monday, January 19, 2015 is a new hour-long special titled “All This and Gargauntua-2.” This will be the first new episode of The Venture Brothers since July 2013, which is far too long ago for my tastes. “All This and Gargantua-2” features all your favorite VB characters and sends them to space, where Jonas Venture Jr. is launching his new space station. Nearly every major and minor character from the show is going to make an appearance on the special, and hopefully there won’t be as long a wait before more new episodes. To pass the time till Monday, check out the trailer for “All This and Gargantua-2” and don’t forget to watch adult swim on January 19.

There is hardly anything out today, what with the holiday and it being a fifth Wednesday of the month, but what is coming out is pretty cool so you should try to get to a store today and pick up some of the books being offered today. Besides, you’ll want something to do tomorrow while you rest off your hangover, and what better way to ring in the new year than read some comics. Let’s drop the ball on The GoD List!
