This is a very good week for new releases, with a couple of titles that are shoe-ins to win some major awards next year. And there are plenty of other great books, including plenty of new Marvel titles, but we can only cover so many. So let’s get to telling you about some spectacular picks on The GoD List!

Yes, it’s that time of year again, time for the biggest comics convention in America, even if the show has moved beyond being just about comics. But it’s okay, all comic conventions have moved past comics to one degree or another. Sorry, got off track there. It’s San Diego week, which means there are a lot of new series and big hardcovers out this week to entice buyers at the show and even those of us not at the show. In fact, it’s better for those of us not going to SDCC, because we don’t have to wait in line and then figure out how to lug all this stuff back in our luggage. So rejoice at the ease with which you can buy your comics, for it is truly a good week to celebrate comics. And celebrate we shall on this week’s The GoD List!

Happy New Year’s Eve, everyone! There is hardly anything out today, what with the holiday and it being a fifth Wednesday of the month, but what is coming out is pretty cool so you should try to get to a store today and pick up some of the books being offered today. A happy belated Canada Day to all my friends north of the border and a happy early Independence Day to all my friends in the U.S. Hope you all get to enjoy a nice three-day weekend, unless you have to work, which I can’t really help you with. What I can help you with is comics, specifically what comics to buy this week. So celebrate your freedom by supporting capitalism in all its glory and buying some comics. It’s what Cap and Supes and especially the U.S. Agent want you to do. And if you want to make them sad this week that’s fine, all you have to do is ignore the advice of The GoD List!
