Each and every week, I, “I’ll be back!” Henchman 21 and “Yes, you will!” Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of May 21, 2014. That’s right kiddies, vacation’s over and it’s time to get back to the mean old business of passing along what you need to buy this week on your trip to the comic store. You’re going to the store to buy Saga anyway, so you may as well pick up some other stuff because Saga isn’t the only good series coming out right now. So check out these books that are out this week, get to the store, and get some of that sweet, sweet comic love, because you can’t stop The GoD List!

| The GoD List: Comics For Free Comic Book Day 2014 |

Each and every week, I, “Free Comics!” Henchman 21 and “No seriously, Free Comics!” Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for Free Comic Book Day, May 3, 2014. Single issues and trades (Well, not trades today), they’re all here. What’s this? Two GoD Lists in one week? It’s true, we’re here for a special edition because May 3, 2014 is Free Comic Book Day! It’s that most special day of the year when comic book stores around the country open their doors and hand out pre-selected FREE books to readers. Not only are there free books, but a lot of stores will be having special store signings and other events. So go find your local store and see what events they have planned. What I’m going to do right now is run down some of the books being handed out, highlighting the must don’t-have-to-buy books. Remember though, that the stores actually have to pay for these comics that they are giving you for free, so do them a favor and maybe buy a couple of regular comics to give them a hand. With that public service message out of the way, onto The GoD List!

If you’ve been paying attention to Paul Cornell’s Wolverine series since he took over, you’ll already know that Wolverine has lost his famous healing factor and has been living without it. It looks like the “living” part of it will be coming to an end in September as Marvel Comics will release a four part weekly series titled “The Death of Wolverine.” The mini-series will be written by comic’s newest wunderkind Charles Soule (She-Hulk, Swamp Thing, roughly ten billion other series) and will feature art by Steve McNiven (Civil War). Check out McNiven’s cover for “The Death of Wolverine” and let us know what you think about this below.

Each and every week, I, “Bob McKenzie!” Henchman 21 and “Doug McKenzie!” Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of April 23, 2014. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. It’s time to put the spotlight on Dark Horse Comics this week thanks to a new series, an excellent one-shot, and a new issue for one of their best series. There’s not a ton of books this week, but it’s a good time to check out some other stuff. Oh, and Marvel is starting another event this week, if you’re into that kind of thing, which I sometimes am. But let’s just focus on Dark Horse this week, and maybe throw in a little DC for good measure. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got hockey to watch, so why don’t you just keep yourself occupied with The GoD List!
