Bioware has released its first look at Dragon Age 2 game play with the Rise to Power trailer. You can view it here below.
I’ve been looking forward to seeing game play since the release of the cinematic trailer some time ago. This is usually where I first start to decide if the game will be a “must buy” or not, depending on how the game play looks. Right now, I’m still on the fence. The game play looks good, but definitely not great. The opening sequence in the trailer just looks choppy. Not what I would have expected for my first glimpse of what the game will look like. The quality seems to get better as the trailer goes on, but I just can’t get over the first sequence. The trailer makes up for its somewhat lack of image quality with something else, blood, and there is a lot of it here. Hopefully that translates over to the game. Who doesn’t like chopping limbs of orcs and other creatures?

Watch Now: ‘Paul’ Trailer

My favorite things to watch include Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and a British TV show called Spaced (the latter of which, if you haven’t seen it, is available to watch for free on Hulu and is fantastic).
What do all three of these have in common? They all star Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Imagine my excitement when the first trailer for their new movie Paul was released. Watch it here below! Paul follows two friends from England as they come to America for a comic book convention. After the convention they explore Area 51 where they find an alien named Paul, voiced by Seth Rogen. Also staring in the film is Kristin Wiig , Sigourney Weaver, Bill Hader, Jane Lynch, and Jason Bateman.

Iron Man + Steampunk = Awesome

There are very few things that I think look as cool as Steampunk art. I’ve never really read any of the books, besides Leviathan, which I’m not sure even counts.
Yesterday, Iron Man director Jon Favreau tweeted out the coolest Steampunk art I have ever seen — it’s a Steampunk version of the Iron Man suit! The image is posted above, and you can click it for the full view. I’m not sure who made it, but the link Mr. Favreau put up goes to a Flickr account, and apparently this won a contest with Marvel. Some of the comments on the page say that this isn’t really Steampunk. What do you think? Steampunk or no, it is pretty kick ass!

Cop Busts Up Bumblebee On Set Of ‘Transformers 3’

On the set of Transformers 3 in Washington, DC, they ran into a little problem. That problem was a police SUV. Apparently a veteran bomb squad officer was on his way out to a call and on a different channel than the police officer’s securing the film set for a chase scene for the movie. What ensues is Bumblebee, the yellow Chevy Camaro transformer, crashing into the side of the cop car.
You get a nice view of Transformer Optimus Prime and another (you are going to kill me) Autobot that I don’t know its name. You can hear the police siren, eventually see the cop car, then Bumblebee come out and, WHAMMY. It’s a nice little wreck. The officer was taken to the hospital, but my medically untrained eyes would guess that it was just a precaution. It’s a little weird that he was on a different radio frequency than the cops on set, but that could be normal, not only am I not a doctor, but I’m also not a cop, so that could be normal. Below is some footage taken by someone on the scene. Click on the picture to see a bigger image of the crash, or you can click the source link to see Fox DC’s coverage, which is great and has a video of another angle of the crash.

Get 200 Free Microsoft Points

Microsoft is really trying to push the Bing search engine, and you my friends, can take advantage of it.
Currently Microsoft is giving away 250 Bing rewards points. I myself will never use Bing enough to build up points to buy anything cool. However, you can buy 100 Microsoft Points with 100 Bing rewards points. Thus netting yourself a cool 200 Microsoft Points that you can use either in the Xbox Live Marketplace or Zune Marketplace. I like free stuff. A couple caveats. One, you have to download and install the Bing toolbar. The other is that supposedly it only works with Internet Explorer 7 or higher; however, I just used Firefox and got my free points just fine. I think I’ll buy a nice warm jacket for my avatar, winter is right around the corner after all.
