Cop Busts Up Bumblebee On Set Of ‘Transformers 3’

On the set of Transformers 3 in Washington, DC, they ran into a little problem. That problem was a police SUV. Apparently a veteran bomb squad officer was on his way out to a call and on a different channel than the police officer’s securing the film set for a chase scene for the movie. What ensues is Bumblebee, the yellow Chevy Camaro transformer, crashing into the side of the cop car.

You get a nice view of Transformer Optimus Prime and another (you are going to kill me) Autobot that I don’t know its name. You can hear the police siren, eventually see the cop car, then Bumblebee come out and, WHAMMY. It’s a nice little wreck. The officer was taken to the hospital, but my medically untrained eyes would guess that it was just a precaution. It’s a little weird that he was on a different radio frequency than the cops on set, but that could be normal, not only am I not a doctor, but I’m also not a cop, so that could be normal.

Below is some footage taken by someone on the scene. Click on the picture to see a bigger image of the crash, or you can click the source link to see Fox DC’s coverage, which is great and has a video of another angle of the crash.

Michael Bay’s ‘Transformers 3’ Picks Up An Official Title

Apart from the much-covered spat between director Michael Bay and starlet Megan Fox, which ultimately led to her replacement with Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as the female lead, and star Shia LaBeouf promising things would be much better this time around, we haven’t heard too much about Transformers 3.

The Bay directed trilogy-capper now has itself an official title, and it will be interesting to see how fans react to it. The movie will now be called Transformers: The Dark of the Moon, which ties to a trio of upcoming Transformer novels with similar titles, Transformers: The Dark of the Moon – Secret of the Autobots, Transformers: The Dark of the Moon – Autobots Betrayed!, and Transformers: The Dark of the Moon: Invasion of the Decepticons.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

They don’t appear to be wasting any time on the Transformers 3 front. Geek Week has the scoop from a trusted inside source that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, a current Victoria Secret’s model, is set to replace Megan Fox as the love interest of star Shia LaBeouf‘s Sam Witwicky.

The news broke just this past Wednesday that director Michael Bay had decided not to bring back Fox after some turmoil had been brewing between the two. Not long after those reports broke, Fox’s camp was claiming that it was she who had done the departing because of the relationship with Bay, so we may never really know. Personally, it’s hard to think that Megan Fox, despite her current level of fame, would pass up the pay day that was sure to fall into her lap for one more robo-alien turn.

Transformers

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that director Michael Bay has decided that will not be bringing starlet Megan Fox back for Transformers 3 when it’s released on July 1, 2011. Fox has been the female lead in the first two movies, but some angry fire has been growing between her and Bay, and this seems to be one definitive finger-of-choice from the director.

Since appearing in 2007’s Transformers, hand-selected by director Michael Bay himself, Megan Fox has gone on to super stardom and the adoration of many a young gentlemen.

After all the fame and success came, the actress famously had some negative things to say about Bay and how his movies only focus on special effects and not at all on acting, and how Transformers was “for geniuses” and impossible to understand. The director came back at by saying that Fox “had a lot of growing up to do” and that many stars became stars because of roles that he gave them.
