| Check That: Harry Shearer Returning To ‘The Simpsons’ After All
A couple of months ago news broke which shocked the longtime fans of The Simpsons: Harry Shearer, the voice of many of the hit animated show’s characters including Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, Principle Skinner, and many others, would not be returning after 26 seasons on the job. Back then we said it was really hard to believe Shearer was actually leaving and this wasn’t just one of those disputes that would eventually be worked out. And as it turns out, much to the delight of said fans, that’s exactly what was going on as it’s now being reported that Shearer has officially signed on to return with the other voice actors.

I’ve long been a fan of Disney films. They have a ridiculously spectacular track record, both in quality and sales. So why then would Disney reach out to a Japanese creator for access to that director’s catalog of animated works? Well, when that person happens to be Hayao Miyazaki it all becomes clear. Arguably the greatest animator to ever breathe, he has been celebrated the world over. And one work of his stands out even among the masterpieces he has brought to life. I speak, of course, of Spirited Away. Not only did it win the 2002 Oscar for Best Animated Film, it is the highest grossing film in Japanese history. Intrigued yet? Of course you are, so read on.

The first time I witnessed early footage I experienced a mix of hope and hilarity. After what has felt like an endless wait, the movie is finally out. The latest trailer for the upcoming animated feature The Peanuts Movie has been released by 20th Century Fox. You can check it out here below. The teaser trailer for the movie was released in January. The gang created by Charles M. Schulz is all here and it looks like their debut in the glory of computer-generated animation will remain true to their simple yet honest and heartfelt two-dimensional origins. The script was written by the Peanuts creator’s son Craig Schulz and grandson Bryan Schulz, with Steve Martino (Ice Age: Continental Drift) directing and Paul Feig (Spy) serving as a producer. Archival recordings of the late Bill Melendez are being used to provide the voices of Snoopy and Woodstock.
