As the end of the year rolls around critics associations and respective guilds are announcing their best of the year. The Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society, or LAOFCS for short, have recently announced their list of nominees that recognize the best in film, acting, directing, writing, and more. Additionally, they have a few other nominations that separate themselves from the rest of the pack. Awards like Best Female Director, Best Visual Effects Performance, and Best Stunts are all a part of the awards ensemble. So while it comes as no surprise that films like A Star Is Born, If Beale Street Could Talk, and BlackKklansman have all earned nominations, there are a few surprises like Searching that could help get the film more attention. As a member of the LAOFCS, it’s great to see that there is a group of critics who recognize everything that films have to offer. From female and male directors to the young actors of tomorrow. Check out the full list below.

It’s the end of the year, which means it is time to recognize the best that films had to offer in 2018. We can expect to see the usual guilds and groups release their nominations, and that is no different for the Annie Awards, which recognize excellence in animation. No matter the medium or technique. As expected, films like Incredibles 2 and Ralph Breaks The Internet both earned 11 nominations, while Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse took seven nominations. Which is pretty disappointing considering how the film is pretty much a game-changer in terms of animation and animated storytelling. Other major contenders include Early Man and Isle of Dogs. On the TV side of things, Bob’s Burgers and BoJack Horseman earned nominations as well. Big Mouth also earned a nomination for Netflix. Although, it’s sad to see nothing went to Voltron. Check out the full list below.
