| Indie Author Spotlight: ‘Boy In The Mirror’ Author Robert J. Duperre |

Some of you might remember the Hugo Award-winning science fiction and fantasy blog SF Signal, run by John DeNardo, and its dedication to all things genre-related. In its nearly 13 year run, SF Signal was a leader in creating quality content geared towards fans and creators alike. In its final two years, I was blessed to be able to run a monthly column on the site in which I interviewed talented self-published authors including Rob J. Hayes (winner of Mark Lawrence’s 2017 Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off), Matthew Mather, David Simpson, Luke Smitherd, and more. The Indie Author Spotlight was designed to bring attention to independent authors, as well as introduce under-the-radar authors/genre fiction to readers. It’s been over two years since SF Signal closed its doors, but thanks to Empress Eve and Dave3, the Indie Author Spotlight has found a new home at Geeks of Doom! I couldn’t be more thrilled to begin this journey anew at GoD, a geekdom site that I’ve had the pleasure of calling home for over five years. For the first Spotlight, I’ve had the honor of interviewing the brilliant Robert J. Duperre. Continue below for more on the author and to read the interview.

| Interview: Author Blake Northcott On ‘The North Valley Grimoire’
Here at Geeks Of Doom, we love to interview folks of all walks of life. But few are as near and dear to us as internationally best-selling author Blake Northcott. As a matter of fact, she’s one of us from time to time! I have written several articles about her or her work, so I am more than familiar with everything she has accomplished. From her first book that I reviewed in 2011, Vs. Reality, to her more recent endeavors, such as writing Michael Turner’s Fathom, she has proven herself head and shoulders above the rest. It is, therefore, my pleasure to be able to show you a bit about her and her newest book, The North Valley Grimoire! I was able to get a few answers (and a couple of evasions) from her that you might find interesting — I know I did. But then again, they were my questions, right? Check it all out here below and be sure to cruise over to her pages afterwards and preorder your copy!

| Interview: Horror Author Michael Hodges
Michael Hodges has been unleashing monsters on horror readers ever since his debut novel, The Puller, was published in 2015. In the science fiction thriller, an invisible beast torments a man in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Since then, he’s written about creepy alien creatures that try to take over a Montana ecosystem (The Invasive) and the horrors of materialism when a shopping mall gets cut off from the known universe (Black Friday). As an award-winning nature photographer and avid outdoorsman, he’s well acquainted with real-life predators, big and small. Recently, I got a chance to chat with Hodges about monster-making and his photography.

In Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is serving the remaining days of his house arrest in San Francisco as a consequence of his actions in the events of Captain America: Civil War. Approached by Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Lang must once again don the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside the Wasp. The urgent mission soon leads to secret revelations from the past as the dynamic duo finds themselves in an epic battle against a powerful new enemy. We were fortunate enough to sit down with our fellow members of the press to talk about the film with Rudd, Lilly, director Peyton Reed, and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. There they talked about writing the script, the logistics of filming a car chase, the film’s themes, and more. Check out what they had to say below.

Scott Lang’s (Paul Rudd) life will never be the same after the events of Captain America: Civil War. In Ant-Man and the Wasp, our title hero finds himself in familiar territory, an ex-convict who is trying to live on the straightened arrow. Well, an ex-convict who helped Captain America commit treason. But who remembers those things. Now with a few days of house arrest left, Scott feels like he can live on the straightened arrow. That is, until, he is pulled out of his house by Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). The two bring him a new mission that could potentially rescue Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) from the Quantum Realm. But it won’t be easy, especially when you got the Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Sonny Burch (Walton Goggins) going after Hank’s tech. We were fortunate enough to sit down with our fellow journalists to talk to director Peyton Reed and Marvel Studios’ president Kevin Feige, along with Rudd, Lilly, John-Kamen, Douglas, and Laurence Fishburne about the film, its place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, villainy, and more. Check out what they had to say below.
