Disney In Depth: Predicting The Success Of ABC’s Fall 2016 Schedule

ABC begins this fall season with a new president in charge (Channing Dungey) and a handful of popular shows (long-running Grey’s Anatomy and Modern Family), but with a lot of sore spots. Last season saw several renewals, but none of them were breakout hits. Expect ABC to come back swinging with a few surefire contenders for most buzz-worthy, and hopefully, with solid ratings that actually sustain the series.

Black Metal Friday Preview: Torrid Husk “Carminite”
|

On September 23, 2016, Grimoire Records will release a full-length split album entitled Swallow Matewan that has been over two years in the making. The record features two bands from very disparate parts of the world that share a common vision of black metal and a deep admiration for each other’s vision.
Torrid Husk are long-time Grimoire artists that hail from West Virginia. Their sound is a dense and intricate form of black metal that pummels the listener with layered nuances that lend themselves to the discovery of something new with each listen. End come out of the Athens, Greece scene and practice a more ethereal style of atmospheric black metal. Despite the two band’s different approaches to the genre, Swallow Matewan manages to flow together as one cohesive and monumental work of art.
We here at Geek of Doom are proud to present for your listening pleasure, in conjunction with Grimoire Records and Dewar PR, an advanced preview of one of the Torrid Husk tracks from the Swallow Matewan split. This is “Carminite.”

Massive Metal Monday: Allegaeon “Gray Matter Mechanics”

Colorado’s Allegaeon is one of the most exciting bands the technical death metal genre today. That’s why fans were given cause for concern when the band announced last year that they had parted ways with founding member, vocalist Ezra Haynes. But recently those concerns have been laid to rest with the release of the first advanced single from their upcoming fourth album Proponent For Sentience. The track is titled “Gray Matter Mechanics” and is our first glimpse of new vocalist Riley McShane. The new frontman seems to be a perfect fit with Allegation’s particular blend of goofiness and scientific nerdy-ness. This is thinking man’s metal that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
