Blood Drive
Season 1 Episode 10: “Scar Tissue”
Created by James Roland
Directed by Meera Menon
Written by Alex Ebel
Starring Alan Ritchson, Christina Ochoa, Thomas Dominique, Marama Corlett, Colin Cunningham, Andrew Hall, Darren Kent, Renee Castle
Syfy
Air Date: Wednesday, August 16th, 2017, 10pm Last week on SYFY’s Blood Drive Grace (Christina Ochoa) drove a wounded and dying Arthur (Alan Ritchson) to the edge of the Scar. The only place around was a bizarre Chinese restaurant, a sort of purgatory for it’s owner. Meanwhile, poor Arthur went on the vision quest from Hell, being tortured physically and mentally, before ending up crucified by his personal demons. The ghosts of Blood Drive past all showed to torment him, and while he languished, Grace made a choice that could save Arthur and possibly put her life on the line. Such is life in the Scar. Check out my review of tonight’s Blood Drive below.

Preacher
Episode 2.9 “Puzzle Piece”
Directed by Michael Dowse
Written by Craig Rosenberg
Created by Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen
Starring Dominic Cooper, Joe Gilgun, Ruth Negga, Graham McTavish, Tom Brooke, Ian Colletti, Julie Ann Emery
AMC
Air date: Monday, August 14th, 2017, 9pm Last week on AMC’s Preacher, our three heroes continued to grow apart from one another and fall deeper into individual downward spirals. Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) is short 1% of his soul after using it to dispatch The Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish), and that has him ignorant to the obvious needs of those closest to him, his focus on finding God turning into obsession. Tulip (Ruth Negga) is dealing with PTSD after her near death experience at the hands of the Saint, and her guard is lowered so much that when face to face with Lara Featherstone (Julie Ann Emery) of The Grail, she makes friends. Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) is tortured the harshest, perhaps. A vampire, who knows all too well the horrors of eternal life, is suffering through the choice of whether to save his dying son Denis (Ronald Guttman) with a bite, or let him die naturally. Tonight, with the three of them divided, The Grail moves into position to take out Jesse and Genesis. Check out my review of Preacher below.

Directed by Dave Hill

Starring Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Alfie Allen
HBO
Air date: August 13, 2017 WARNING: Spoilers for HBO’s Game Of Thrones…. On last week’s Game Of Thrones, oh man, oh man, there be DRAGONS and Dragon Fire!! But first, at Winterfell, Littlefinger gave Bran the Valyrian steel dagger that kicked off the War of the Five Kings, but why did he do this? Bran then gave the weapon to his sister, Arya, who has finally returned home, but she’s not the little girl everyone remembers — she’s a deadly warrior now. How does her sister Lady Sansa feel about that? Not too thrilled, it seems. Arya wants to train with Brienne of Tarth, who was impressed by the girl’s fighting style. On Dragonstone, Jon Snow showed Daenerys cave drawings beneath keep that prove that the First Men and Children of the Forest aligned to fight the White Walkers. After seeing this, Daenerys told Jon she will help him fight the undead threat… if he bends the knee to her. Later, cowardly Theon and some Greyjoy crewmen arrived to see the Queen, but she was gone! Where did she go? Cue Daenerys riding the dragon Drogon into battle with her Dothraki horde against the Lannister army, led by Jaime. Drogon suffered a minor injury in the fray that downed him, but he still had his fire power. As Jaime foolishly charged at Daenerys, Drogon let out a blast of fire, but Jaime was saved from the flames when someone knocked him from his horse at the last second. But the knight was knocked into the bay and was last seen sinking down in the water wearing his heavy armor and sporting his golden prosthetic hand. Will Jaime survive this? And if he does, will he be captured by Daenerys or will he make it back to King’s Landing to his love Cersei?
