| Drew Goddard To Write and Direct Marvel’s Spider-Man Movie, Could Be ‘Spectacular’
Three weeks ago, fans of the Spider-Man franchise who were less than enthused by its recent entries breathed a sigh of relief when the news broke that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios had finally worked out a deal that would allow for Peter Parker and his iconic super alter ego to appear in one of the upcoming features from Marvel as well as headline a new film that Marvel and Sony would co-produce. The deal was major enough to impact Marvel’s Phase Three release schedule, with four movies getting their release dates pushed back. If Kellvin Chavez at Latino Review is to be believed, and that dude is rarely wrong, it looks as if the studios have already found their director for the next Spider-Man movie.

Now that Sony is sharing Spider-Man with Marvel Studios — for almost nothing — all sorts of rumors are spreading. We know that the studio wants to reboot the franchise to focus on the titular character’s high school origins while juggling both the awkward relationships and his superhero life, and a short list of actors gave us an idea of who they were looking for. While that idea may not sit well with some, this latest rumor could be the step in the right direction. Rumor has it that the new Spider-Man may not be white, and may not be Peter Parker. | Rumor: Justice League Dark Team Members From ‘Dark Universe’ Film Revealed
Back in November, Guillermo del Toro submitted his script to Warner Bros. for a Justice League Dark movie, based on the DC Comics series. The movie, with the working title Dark Universe, will center on the more supernatural/occult-oriented characters of the DC universe. So far, we know that Del Toro had plans to make a blond version of John Constantine the lead character and that the Demon in the story will be Jason Blood, who was one of the Knights of King Arthur. The filmmaker had also said that the origins of the team would be uncovered throughout the film, as opposed to all at the beginning, and that “it’s a very different universe.” There’s been a lot of talk about which characters would appear in the film, but now Latino Review’s El Mayimbe has the scoop on exactly who the members of the Justice League Dark team will be.
