Just last week, Colin Trevorrow exited as director on Star Wars: Episode IX over creative differences. The film left a small void that didn’t need to be filled in a hurry considering that Star Wars: The Last Jedi hasn’t been released yet. Now, that void has been filled. By none other than Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams. Lucasfilm hasn’t had a stable directing force ever since it was acquired by Disney. But they’ve been able to see three films all the way through with three directors. Abrams with The Force Awakens; Gareth Edwards – to a certain point – with Rouge One: A Star Wars Story, and Rian Johnson with the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi. In the past Josh Trank was forced out of another of the spinoffs due to his behind the scenes antics; Phil Lord and Chris Miller were let go due to creative differences on the still untitled Han Solo spinoff; and the same with Trevorrow on Episode IX. So let’s take a look at who will be joining the Star Wars director, below.

Preacher
Episode 2.13 “The End of the Road”
Written by Sam Catlin
Directed by Wayne Yip
Created by Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen
Starring Dominic Cooper, Joe Gilgun, Ruth Negga, Graham McTavish, Tom Brooke, Ian Colletti, Julie Ann Emery
AMC
Air date: Monday, September 11, 2017 As the Grateful Dead said, “What a long strange trip it’s been.” Season 2 of AMC’s Preacher never came close to a sophomore slump; in fact, it somehow improved on the sheer lunacy of Season 1. What started as both a quest to find God and a run from the Saint of Killers has ended with Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) being groomed to be the new Messiah by Herr Starr (Pip Torrens), leader of The Grail. This new path did not fly well with Tulip (Ruth Negga) and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), each of whom has been dealing with serious issues without Jesse’s help much of the season. Tulip is suffering from PTSD after nearly being killed by The Saint (Graham McTavish) and Cass has been dealing first with his son Denis (Ronald Guttman) dying, and then a much more serious problem of freshly turned vampire Denis and his insatiable appetite. With that happening on this plain of existence, Eugene, aka Arseface (Ian Colletti) is trying to sneak out of Hell along with Adolf F*cking Hitler (Noah Taylor). Spoilers for the Season 2 Finale of Preacher below:

Edited Hassan Blasim
Tor Books
Release Date: September 12, 2017 Anytime the opportunity arises to experience something new and unique, I advise you to embrace it. But I must warn you, not all of these will be easily categorized. As a matter of fact, sometimes the experience will not just be enlightening, but also challenging. Iraq + 100: The First Anthology of Science Fiction to Have Emerged from Iraq is more than an anthology of new voices in science fiction. It is a testament to mankind’s willpower and tenacity even in the face of certain destruction. But, and this is a huge but, it is far more than even that. This book defies contemporary concepts of what sci-fi is by adding additional layers of history, laced with emotional turmoil.
