Preacher
Episode 2.8 “Holes”
Directed by Maja Vrvilo
Written by Mark Stegemann
Created by Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen
Starring Dominic Cooper, Joe Gilgun, Ruth Negga, Gianna LePera, Graham McTavish, Tom Brooke, Ian Colletti, Julie Ann Emery
AMC
Air date: Monday, August 7th, 2017, 9pm Last week on AMC’s Preacher we finally peeked behind the curtain of The Grail. The Grail is religious cult-like organization with one mission: protect the Jesus Messiah mythos by circling the globe and annihilating all other “godly threats.” Last week, a floating pig in Vietnam was being worshipped by villagers and Herr Starr (Pip Torrens) arrived to clean the mess up. Torrens was electric last week as we watched his ascension from potential Grail employee to leader of the organization. Jesse (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga), and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) are still in New Orleans searching for God, having dealt with the threat of the Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish)… for now. But all of them are preoccupied by their own personal demons to focus on the mission at hand. Check out my review for this week’s Preacher here below (SPOILERS):

The Mummy: Volume 1: Palimpsest TPB
Written by Peter Milligan
Art by Ronilson Freire
Colors by Ming Sen & Dijjo Lima
Letters by Simon Bowland
Titan Comics
Release Date: June 28, 2017
Cover Price: $19.99 Cycles. Everything in existence seems to be cyclical. Take this comic for instance. The Mummy: Volume 1: Palimpsest is a rebirth of the mummy movie franchise that Hammer Films brought to the silver screen in 1959. These were, to some extent, a rebirth themselves from the old black and white films decades earlier. But what Hammer Films did was modernize the characters and connect to a whole new generation of fans. So, in the spirit of it all, Titan Comics has partnered with Hammer to create this all new adventure. Originally a five issue mini-series, this trade paperback combines all of Ronilson Freire‘s sequential art with a whole lot more in the way of galleries, history, and commentary. With each resurrection of our iconic main character, we see some subtle (and not so subtle) differences that reflect the times in which we live. This concept is explored by Peter Milligan in the comic script in such a way as to make as obvious point of different life is today than what it once was.

Hey, folks! It has been a little while since I last posted a Kickstarter Spotlight but I ran across this one completely by accident and loved it! It has only a few weeks left so I figured there is no time like the present. The Girl Who Kept Night In Her Closet is a book about a little girl with enormous power or at least an equally gigantic imagination. It’s up to you to decide exactly where reality exists and fantasy begins. But that is definitely part of the joys of childhood, right? Continue below for more on the story and campaign, and to watch the Kickstarter video presentation.
