As if 3D wasn’t already expensive, it may be getting even more so. As studios slowly become more and more in love with not only the format of 3D, but the premium prices audiences must pay in order to see a film in 3D, that greed may now be fueling something even bigger; studios forcing people to pay for their very own glasses.

Mars Needs Moms
4–Disc Blu/3D/DVD/Digital Combo I 2–Disc Blu/DVD Combo I DVD
DIRECTOR: Simon Wells
WRITER: Simon Wells, Wendy Wells
STARRING: Seth Green, Seth Robert Dusky, Dan Fogler, Joan Cusack, Elisabeth Harnois, Mindy Sterling, Tom Everett Scott, Kevin Cahoon
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment
RELEASE DATE: August 9, 2011 Having the very unfortunate disposition of costing $150 million to make, and only bringing back $38 million worldwide in return, Walt Disney’s Mars Needs Moms can be considered one of the biggest flops of all time…and that, my friends, is not a good thing to have hovering over you. But is the movie really as bad as this monumental flop indicates, or are there redeeming qualities worth seeking out? The movie follows Milo, (performance captured by Seth Green, voiced by Seth Robert Dusky), a normal everyday boy who has a bit of an argument with his mother (Joan Cusack). As most boys would, he feels badly about snapping at her with some very unkind words, and proceeds to go and apologize. But when he reaches her bedroom, a strange bright light is making its way through the bottom of the door, and he goes in to check out what it is. When he enters, he sees some sort of craft zooming away, and, realizing his mom is gone, runs after it only to find a spaceship, which he sees has taken his mother.

By Cinemumra
| September 12th, 2011 at 4:02 pm |
Nothing says 3D like a bunch of shirtless dudes playing volleyball. That’s exactly what some people think, as, according to THR, Tony Scott’s Top Gun is coming back to the big screen, and before it gets a sequel, it’s getting 3D. No set release date has been announced as of yet, except a planned release for some time in 2012. The 2D to 3D conversion is being worked on by Legend 3D, the same crew behind the 3D on Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, so you know there is some sort of talent behind the conversion that will be taking place here.

| SDCC 2011: ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Panel, Footage Description & Video Of Andrew Garfield Surprise |
|
Unfortunately for The Amazing Spider–Man, their trailer leaked a tad early, leading Columbia Pictures to just release it for all to see (unfortunately for them, maybe, but good for those of us excited about the movie!). Surely if the trailer hadn’t have leaked they could have wowed everyone at Comic–Con with it before releasing it, but they still were sure to bring a little something extra to show off. The panel kicked off with said trailer, this time in 3D to add a little bit new to the mix, before someone dressed in a low–budget Spider–Man costume came up to the microphone going on about how excited they were to be there. After a bit, the person removes their mask to reveal that it’s the new Spidey himself, Andrew Garfield, who then talks about how much the superhero means to him and how much it changed his life growing up. Garfield then introduced the rest of the panel””his co–star and female lead, Emma Stone, director Marc Webb, and producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach“”before removing the costume and joining them. Co–star Rhys Ifans was the surprise guest later in the panel. Keep reading for new footage descriptions and to check out some pictures from the panel. You can also see a video of Garfield’s speech after he revealed himself as the costumed fan!

| SDCC 2011: Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ Panel Covers 3D, ‘Alien’ Ties, PG–13 Rating
The highly anticipated panel for Ridley Scott‘s sorta–kind but not really Alien prequel, Prometheus, was held at San Diego Comic–Con 2011 on Thursday, and things that will excite you as well as things that may make you a little uneasy were discussed. The panel opened with moderator (and screenwriter) Damon Lindelof, who is of course one of the main men behind one of the greatest TV shows of all time, LOST. Lindelof gets things rolling with a story of how he came to be the writer Ridley chose to pen what would be the final draft used for the movie, before jumping right into a footage presentation. Continue reading for MUCH more, a footage description, and some images from the panel!
