The success of Tangled, Disney’s take on the classic fairytale Rapunzel, and its animated short Tangled Ever After, will continue with a new animated series that can be seen on the Disney Channel in 2017. | ‘Beauty and The Beast’ Adds Emma Thompson and Kevin Kline
Following Cinderella‘s huge box office success over the weekend, Disney is making a few new announcements for their live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. The Bill Condon-directed film will be adding Emma Thompson and Kevin Kline to the cast. The two actors will be joining Emma Watson (Harry Potter) as Belle; Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) as Beast; Luke Evans (The Hobbit, Dracula Untold) as the brutish Gaston; and Josh Gad (who voices the snowman Olaf in Disney’s animated hit Frozen) as Lefou, Gaston’s sidekick.

| Disney In Depth: ABC’s 5 Most Anticipated Upcoming Series
ABC has released details of its array of new shows premiering during the 2014-2015 television season. This warrants dissecting the most exciting series coming from the Alphabet Network. Next year promises a diversity of programs, in both the themes of the shows and the backgrounds of featured casts. Perhaps more than any other network, ABC’s new shows represent many races, nationalities, and life experiences. This is quite encouraging, considering how often TV depicts only certain populations. The other clear winning formula in ABC’s schedule may be how many new dramas come from the ABC Studios production company.
