Alpha and Omega review

Alpha and Omega
Hardcover | Kindle | Audiobook
By Harry Turtledove
Publisher: Del Rey, an imprint of Random House Books
Release Date: July 2, 2019

Harry Turtledove is renowned for his alternative historical tales. Oftentimes, one small change is all it takes to create an entirely different possible outcome. And, to be fair, I have enjoyed all of his prior stories that I have read. Therefore, I was slightly surprised to find that Alpha and Omega was less about a historical event and more about the present and, to some extent, the future. I was no less entranced, to be sure. In fact, it caused me some serious introspection when I put the book down. Curious? Then keep reading for more about this wonderful book.

From the Mind of M. Night Shyamalan: DevilTeen comedy, crime drama, intense horror, romance, and an animated kid’s film. I think I just heard Keanu say “Whoa!” The Studios are offering up a veritable potpourri of cinema this weekend. It feels like an oddity to me to see such degree of diversity at the box office, but I know it’s probably not. It’s just been a while and we’re not used to it.

This has been M. Night Shyamalan week at Doom HQ as we prepare for our Flix of Doom review of Devil, along with a discussion of Shyamalan’s body of work. So that’s where my geeky ass is going to be planted at the theater this weekend.

I wanna know what movie YOU are planning to see this weekend?

Check out your choices here below.

Toy Story

Entertainment Weekly has released nine new images of movies on their way in exploding 3-D style. These will only really be amusing to you if you have a pair of 3-D glasses you can throw on to check them out, otherwise you may obtain a small headache. Old school glasses don’t seem to work, either… I tried that.

Movies included in the set are: a couple from Monsters vs. Aliens (March 27), Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (July 1), and Up (May 29) as well as Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (September 18), Alpha and Omega (2010), and even a look at the 3-D re-release of 1995’s Toy Story, set for another run October 2.

We recently covered a Time story on 3-D movies as the future of films (Read: James Cameron’s “˜Avatar’ To Rock A $300 Million Budget; The Future Of Movies Is At Our Doors). While the perfection of live-action 3-D movies is still being worked out, as you can see, animated 3-D movies are coming in droves.

Be sure to click over and check out the images.
