| Digital Deal: M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Devil’
The digital deal of the day over at Amazon today is the film Devil, directed by John Erick Dowdle, which is available for rental for only $.99. M. Night Shyamalan came up with the story for the film, which is to be the first part of a trilogy conceived by Shyamalan called The Night Chronicles. This deal is valid only for today, Thursday, April 21, 2011, until midnight PST. Once you activate the rental through the Amazon Instant Video service, you’ll have access to the movie for 48 hours. If you’re interested in purchasing the digital version, the cost is $14.99. Also, if you’d like to own a physical copy of the movie, the Blu-ray is available for $24.99 while the DVD is $19.99. Both editions are part of Amazon’s “Buy This DVD and Watch it Instantly” program “” you get the film as a FREE digital rental you can watch immediately when your purchase the physical copy.

Teen comedy, crime drama, intense horror, romance, and an animated kid’s film. I think I just heard Keanu say “Whoa!” The Studios are offering up a veritable potpourri of cinema this weekend. It feels like an oddity to me to see such degree of diversity at the box office, but I know it’s probably not. It’s just been a while and we’re not used to it. This has been M. Night Shyamalan week at Doom HQ as we prepare for our Flix of Doom review of Devil, along with a discussion of Shyamalan’s body of work. | Trailer & Poster For M. Night Shyamalan Produced ‘Devil’ Released
The first trailer for Universal Pictures’ Devil has been released online. The movie is brought to us by producer M. Night Shyamalan, whose current film The Last Airbender is making decent money while simultaneously being critically eviscerated. While Shyamalan is a producer on the project, Devil is being directed by John Erick Dowdle. Dowdle has previously directed The Poughkeepsie Tapes and [REC] remake, Quarantine. The movie stars Chris Messina, Geoffrey Arend, Logan Marshall-Green, Bojana Novakovic, Jenny O’Hara, Bokeem Woodbine, and Jacob Vargas.
