Amazon Orders Nazi Hunter Series ‘The Hunt’ From Jordan Peele, David Weil
Add another project to the insanely busy schedule of Jordan Peele. Amazon Studios has given a 10-episode straight-to-series order to a new series titled The Hunt, which will be executive produced by Peele.
The series, which is created by David Weil, tells the story of a group of Nazi hunters. It’s based on an original idea, and draws inspiration from some real-life events.

’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Director Dan Trachtenberg To Helm Pilot For ‘The Boys’ Based On Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson Comic
We’ve been hearing about an adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson‘s The Boys for quite some time now, but nothing ever came of it for many years.
But that’s since changed. The Boys, which is set in a world where superheroes exist and follows a group of vigilantes who are called in to deal with said superheroes when they get out of line, is currently being adapted into a new series for Amazon. And now a director has been hired to help bring the pilot episode of that series to life. It’s being reported that Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane, Black Mirror) has signed on to direct the first episode of the planned eight-episode first season.

Forget $500 Million, Amazon’s ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Series Could Cost Over $1 BILLION
Well this is just getting insane. Less than one month ago came word that the first seasons of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings would cost more than all three movies in Peter Jackson’s film trilogy. Around $500 million.
But that’s just the beginning of the craziness. Amazon’s adaptation is going to cost hundreds of millions more than Jackson’s trilogy. In fact, it’s expected that once all the costs of producing the show are factored in—including casting, producers, visual effects, and so on—the price tag will be over $1 billion. BILLION. For a television show. It’s going to be the biggest TV series ever produced in terms of price tag.

Amazon Studios Orders ‘Cortes’ From Steven Spielberg and Starring Javier Bardem
Amazon Studios has given the greenlight to a four-hour miniseries titled Cortes, which tells the story of Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortes.
The miniseries has a ton of talent behind it. It’s based on a screenplay penned by the late great Dalton Trumbo, who wrote movies like Roman Holiday and Spartacus and won two Academy Awards for his work. It’s produced by three-time Oscar winner Steven Spielberg through his Amblin Television. It’s created for TV and written by Steven Zaillian, who won an Oscar for writing the screenplay for Spielberg’s Schindler’s List. And Oscar winner Javier Bardem is set to star in the title role and produce.

First Seasons Of Amazon’s ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Series To Cost More Than Peter Jackson’s Movie Trilogy
Last November came confirmation that Amazon had landed the rights to J.R.R. Tolkien‘s book series The Lord of the Rings, and that they were committed to producing multiple seasons.
While the news was exciting the announcement also came with the astonishing revelation that Amazon had reportedly paid around $250 million just for the rights, leaving many to wonder just how massive the show’s price tag would be once they got around to actually making it. Now we have a better idea of what that is. A new report indicates that the overall budget of the first couple of seasons of the show will likely surpass the total cost of Peter Jackson’s beloved Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
