| First U.S. Trailer For Walter Salles’ ‘On The Road’
Although Walter Salles‘ On The Road has been making a few festival rounds, we’ve only seen a couple of trailers from the film. Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley, and Kristen Stewart are just some of the headline names that have lead roles in the film, and now we are getting to see them in the first domestic and very brief beatnik trailer for the film. Check it out here below. You may have noticed that the trailer does an excellent job of previewing Jack Kerouac’s travels during the Beat generation. The brief trailer can only be described as sexually raw, full of drug use, and is musically expressive.

The Master is proving why its one of the most highly anticipated films of the year with each and every new teaser release. Not only that, but select cities have been able to see advanced screenings of the film, and let’s just say they are overwhelmingly positive. But before the film can make its official debut to the public next month, the film’s director, Paul Thomas Anderson, shared a few thoughts on his latest directorial effort. There’s also a new clip that has been released and it reveals the newest city to get an advanced screening of the film. Check it out below. In an interview with NewsWeek magazine (via Collider), Anderson acknowledges the rumors he’s heard about The Master being about Scientology. Although the film’s key character (Philip Seymour Hoffman) is based on L. Ron Hubbard’s founding of Scientology and the influence it has on its followers, the film is not about the religion entirely. In fact, it wasn’t his intention to create the real life story of L. Ron Hubbard.

This is sure to make the cinephiles who live outside Chicago jealous. There is an advanced screening of Paul Thomas Anderson‘s The Master being held tonight and it will be presented in 70mm, the way that PTA would like you to see the film. The highly anticipated film about a navy drifter (Joaquin Phoenix) who becomes a believer of a man of a newly found religion is making its official debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. But even before it does that, it will continue to make some extra special rounds, which is sure to rally film goers who have been waiting to see another PTA piece. There was already a special screening of the film held in Santa Monica, and to promote tonight’s screening in Chicago, a new trailer or clip has been released. Check it out below. The clip is called “She Wrote Me A Letter” shows Lancaster Dodd (Philip Seymour Hoffman) talking about when people are in love, people are in pain. It also shows Amy Adam‘s character talking about the philosophy of Dodd’s newly found religion. And at the end of the clip, we see that there will be a special 70mm screening of the film at the Music Box Theater in Chicago. But don’t try to get tickets to this screening, as they have been sold out. Proceeds will go out to benefit the Film Foundation.

Ever since Paul Thomas Anderson‘s The Master received huge praise at a super special screening in Santa Monica this past weekend, the film has been gaining some serious momentum. Now with the film’s debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) just a few weeks away, The Weinstein Co. has released a brand new poster and it exemplifies just how rare and prestigious this film will be. Above is just a glimpse of the poster, you can check out the full image below. The poster features the principal cast: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix, and Amy Adams standing side by side as seen through a kaleidoscope or a crystal of some kind. Whatever the point of view may be, the poster looks awesome. Usually posters try to convey some sort of tone or send a clear message as to what the film is about, but not this poster.
