| Emma Stone To Play Gwen Stacy In Sony’s ‘Spider-Man’ Reboot
Recently it was reported that Emma Stone had been offered the role of Mary Jane Watson in Sony Pictures’ reboot of Spider-Man. It would appear that Stone was unable to resist the comic book temptations, as it’s now been announced by the studio that the actress has accepted the role…though it is not for Mary Jane. In a press release put out by Sony, it was confirmed that Stone would be playing the female lead, but it would be Gwen Stacy, Spider-Man’s first love from the comics, and not the Mary Jane character that Kirsten Dunst played in the first trilogy. It’s unknown whether or not M.J. will show up at all, or if this is just Sony distancing itself even more from what they did the first time around.

The Social Network
Directed by David Fincher
Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Armie Hammer, Justin Timberlake, Joseph Mazzello
Release date: September 24, 2010
“I need to do something substantial in order to get the attention of the clubs because they are exclusive and lead to a better life.” This quote comes from Harvard sophomore Mark Zuckerberg, a founder of Facebook, while discussing to his soon to be ex-girlfriend what he hopes to get out of the Harvard experience. The movie shows the pursuit and systematic exercise of belonging. No matter how we get the observation from someone we are dying to impress or mock, just as long as we get it. The infectious poison that urges man to reign over all has been rapidly diffused throughout David Fincher‘s new film The Social Network. The movie is about the consequences of moral transgressions and the physical, social, and moral decay. The decay pervades our sordid society; a society that feasts on fame, glory and fortune.

Those good ole boys over at /Film are reporting an interesting casting rumor regarding Mark Webb’s upcoming Spider-Man reboot. Anton Yelchin could be the next actor to portray Harry Osborn.
If you recall, Yelchin was one of those actors rumored to be in the running for Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film. As we found out, the role eventually went to Andrew Garfield, but if the rumor is correct, Yelchin could still be a part of the production. I was originally OK with him being Peter Parker, but this new rumor seems a bit more interesting to me. Previously, Osborn was portrayed by one of my current favorite actors, James Franco, but I never really felt like that casting choice totally clicked. Yelchin has impressed me in pretty much every role I’ve seen him in and I would have total confidence in him if this rumor turned out to be true.
