If gamers were ever to be recruited to fight for their country during wartime, the place they would likely be most useful is as drone pilots, which involves controlling a device capable of great damage and destruction from a remote location. In the upcoming movie Good Kill, a former fighter pilot (Ethan Hawke) becomes a drone pilot, where he fights Taliban from a distance. The movie also stars Bruce Greenwood, Jake Abel, January Jones, and Zoe Kravitz, and is directed by Andrew Niccol. | ‘Inglourious Basterds’ Star Diane Kruger Joins Adaptation Of Stephenie Meyer’s ‘The Host’
Diane Kruger, the German actress who’s starred in such films as Troy, National Treasure, and Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, has entered into negotiations to join the cast of The Host, an adaptation of Twilight author Stephenie Meyer‘s sci-fi book of the same name. The actress would join a cast that already includes Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones, Hanna), Max Irons (Dorian Gray, Red Riding Hood) and Jake Abel (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, I Am Number Four).

Despite the conclusion of the cinematic adaptation of her Twilight novels, writer Stephenie Meyer isn’t going anywhere. EW is reporting that Max Irons has been cast in the role of Jared Howe for the upcoming film based on Meyer’s novel, The Host. The film, scheduled to bow in 2013, is set to be helmed by Andrew Niccol, and already finds Saoirse Ronan in the lead role of Melanie Stryder, “a young woman who shares her body with an alien force known as Wanderer.”

| Acclaimed Writer Harlan Ellison Sues The Makers of ‘In Time’ Over Copyright Infringement
The release of the upcoming sci-fi thriller In Time has just come across an obstacle that no one in their right mind ever wants to encounter, and his name is Harlan Ellison. The prolific, award-winning writer who has been working his literary majesty in print, film, and on television over the course of nearly six decades has filed a lawsuit in California federal alleging that the 20th Century Fox film, which stars Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried and is written and directed by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca, Lord of War), is an uncredited adaptation of his classic 1965 short story “Repent Harlequin! Said The Ticktockman”.

| SDCC 2011: Andrew Niccol’s ‘In Time’ Panel; Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried Show Time Is Literally Money |
Almost a year ago, we were beginning to hear about a new science fiction thriller called I’m.mortal, which was putting together a cast that included Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, and Cillian Murphy. The movie certainly sounded interesting, and thanks to this year’s San Diego Comic–Con, we now know it looks pretty darn interesting, as well! The movie, whose title has since been changed to In Time, is set in a future where we’ve perfected everlasting life and everyone stops aging at the age of 25, but in order to protect from overpopulation, time is now used in lieu of money as a currency. This leaves the rich to live as long as they’d like, and the less–fortunate fighting to keep living. Everyone is genetically engineered to die one year after turning 25, so if you’re unable to replenish your time, you will not last long. Keep reading for more and to see some images from the panel!
